Bio

I am a PhD candidate within the Interdisciplinary Conservation Science Research Group (ICON Science) at RMIT and the National Environmental Science Program’s Threatened Species Recovery Hub. I have a background in conservation ecology and a passion for the Australian environment. My current research explores how we can use a strategic communications approach in conservation messaging to improve public and stakeholder engagement with biodiversity conservation. I am currently volunteering as part of the Australian Conservation Foundation’s Fellowship program as their Story Mobilisation Coordinator. I am also a keen reader and enjoy volunteering with Writers Victoria when I can find the time!

Projects

My PhD is part of the National Environmental Science Program’s Threatened Species Recovery Hub Project 6.3: improving communication and community buy-in to threatened species conservation

In 2019 I worked as a Research Assistant on an evaluation report for the Australian Conservation Foundation: a critical analysis of climate messaging during the 2019 Australian Federal Election.

My Masters project working with Dr Ben Phillips and Dr Reid Tingley at the University of Melbourne focused on investigating the feasibility of a waterless barrier to halt cane toad spread in Western Australia.
