Bio

Let’s start with formal stuff: I am a PhD Candidate researching participation in digital citizen science. One of my areas of focus is how digital technologies (such as smartphones and drones) shape nature connection of citizen science volunteers. I am also investigating how digital technologies shape social connections and knowledge production. I love learning and my interests are broad: environment + gender + community science + technologies.

I am fortunate to have a diverse professional background (meaning, I have so much fun with my jobs!). I have work experience in international NGOs, project management, informal education, new media and think tanks, and I have used both GIS and qualitative tools in academic research. I enjoy facilitating group dynamics and translating knowledge among disciplinary silos.

I am originally from Argentina, and I feel strongly Latin American (btw, PANA means “friend” in some Latin American countries, and friends are very important in my culture!). I came to Australia in 2014 to do a Master of Environment. A serendipitous path meant that I returned to Australia in 2018 and I found an amazing PhD opportunity at the University of Melbourne, so here I am. Happy to chat and connect with people (and other-than-humans too!).
